Try to remember those bad weather incidents and what preceded them. ![]() Probably in my brain it's something like "when the sky looked this way and the air temp dropped (and maybe shifted) in the past something bad happened shortly afterward" and I'm remembering it. If you asked me in that moment how I know this, it would take me a while to answer. We're operating on a pretty instinctual level. ![]() However my wife, daughter, and I are still all really good at looking and at the sky, feeling the air change and saying "it's going to dump rain in 5 minutes let's get under cover" or "I bet its going to start to blow". On the boat I would known what phase of the moon it was almost any day without thinking about it. I knew I was a land-dweller again when I looked up and saw a full moon. ![]()
